A few gems from my daughter

Nowadays my daughter is home 24*7 on account of her summer vacations. To put it more correctly, she is glued to me for the whole day, be it her swimming class or daily playground excursion, I can not have an escape from her. Hence, at many times throughout the day I find myself running short of one crucial thing which you need the most while you are bringing up a kid - patience. But despite this impatience and resultant tiredness there are moments when I can not help myself but smile.

For example sample the following:

Whenever she falls or hurts herself, we/I tell her, to stop her from crying, to be brave, because such ‘chot’ make you strong. Now yesterday, she was trying to lift up the mattress (of the double bed) and succeeded a little bit. Enthusiastically she said, ‘mujhe thodi chot aur lag jane do, phir main pura mattress utha lungi’ (let me get hurt some more time, then I will lift the whole mattress).

Or

She has recently learned reverse counting from 12. She was counting it to her father as: 12-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1-P-S.
Now, he got a bit confused. ‘What is P and S?’ he asked
The reason is that she has a friend who lives at 12th floor and the ground floor and the basement in our complex is numbered P and S respectively.
Whenever she is in the lift she reads the numbers appearing on the indicator and learned the numbers accordingly.
I just hope that next time when we shift house, the complex has 0,-1,-2 numbers for their ground and basement floors!!!
